Our method of teaching irish dance allows students to move up levels & progress using a system to take the mystery out of irish dance training and give each dancer a chance to shine.
From our preschool irish dance classes to school aged dancers, right up to our adult students, all ages are welcome at the Artz Collective we actively encourage everyone to have a go at irish dance.

Beginner dancer? Start Here:
Beginners Irish Dance Classes:
Preschool 3-5yrs: Saturdays 9:45am – 10:15am or Mondays 4:00pm – 4:30pm
Mini / Sub Junior 5-7yrs: Mondays 4:30pm – 5:15pm
Add on a Tap Dance class to assist youngsters with learning Hard-shoe work from 5:15pm – 5:45pm
Junior / Sub-Prelim 8-12yrs: Monday 5:45pm – 6:30pm
Add on a Tap Dance class to assist young dancers with rhythm & to help learn Hard-shoe work from 6:30pm – 7:00pm.
Experienced irish dancer?
Preliminary 8-12yrs: Saturday 1:15pm – 2:15pm
Intermediate 13-17yrs Wednesday 7:00pm – 8:00pm
Looking for an Adults class ?
Adults Irish Dance Class Wednesday 7:00pm – 8:30pm
Irish Dance at Artz Collective FAQs:
Do I need a class uniform? There are no sparkly dresses for beginners, but we do have a simple class uniform. This dance uniform is included in the annual student registration, paid once a year.
Do you do irish dance exams Yes, dancers can grade up through their exams each year once they are ready.
Do you do feis (irish dance competitions)? Yes. Although not compulsory our dancers love the fun of feis day!
Do we have to wear an expensive dress or costume to compete? There are no sparkly dresses for beginner dancers at our feis.
Beginner dancers wear a simple green skirt or black pants & white polo shirt as their competition uniform.
Primary level dancers may wear a teams (or studio) costume.
Dancers may wear a solo dress in the Intermediate & Open levels, however younger students do not wear any make-up or wigs or tiaras until they’re over 12yrs old.
PLUS – did you know there are online competitions now? Our dancers can participate in digital feis around the globe & they don’t even have to leave the studio to compete! It’s a great learning tool and a load of fun too.
Are there other opportunities to perform? Yes, whether or not they are involved in exams or feis, all dancers can perform at our end of year concert and also work their way up to join us onstage at festivals & performances such as the Royal Melbourne Show, the Celtic & Highland Gathering, Yarraville Festival & more…
Do you offer casual classes? Children join on our simple monthly package which includes your tuition and end of year concert costume – PLUS a ticket to the concert for each class you attend weekly, up to a maximum of four tickets! Adult dancers may attend casually or take advantage of a monthly package to reduce their class rate.
